On an average a High Court Judge draws basic salary of Rs. 80, 000/- per month. Though the minimum basic pay scale for the High Court Judge starts from Rs. 26, 000/- per month without allowance and perks.

High Court Judge Grade Pay
The grade pay for the High Court Judge can be as high as Rs. 20, 000/-. It depends on the years of experience of the concerned judge. High Court Judges can be appointed through examinations, promotions or through direct appointment by the government or higher authority. But to get high salary or grade pay one must have served for minimum of few years. The grade pay for the high court judge starts from Rs. 12, 000/- and can grow up to Rs. 20, 000/-.

As mentioned the basic pay scale of the high court judge is up to Rs. 80, 000/- without the allowance and grade pay. The minimum basic pay scale of the judge of the high court is Rs. 26, 000/-. So an inexperience high court judge draws salary of Rs. 45, 000/- including allowance and grade, whereas a senior judge will draw salary of Rs. 80, 000/- per month including allowance and perks.

High Court Judge Allowance
As the responsibility of the judge from the high court is much higher than any other government employee, the perks and allowances are also higher for them. Some of the allowances that a Judge gets are:

All these are some of the many allowances that the high court judge gets along with their basic pay scale. Supreme Court is the highest court in India. The defender can challenge the verdict published by the high court judge and raise the case to the Supreme Court. Of course the verdict announced by the Supreme Court judge is considered to be the final judgement. So it is obvious that the Supreme Court Judge holds the higher than highest position in the Indian law system.

District Judge/Civil Judge Pay Scale
The District Judge is someone who holds the highest position in City Civil courts or District courts. The position of the Civil Judge is definitely lower than the High Court Judge. So the basic pay scale is also lower than the high court or Supreme Court judges. After the National Judicial Pay Commission 2008, the salary of the District Judge is been set fixed at Rs. 28, 000/- per month.
- The civil judge in Junior Division gets Salary of Rs. 12, 000/- per month
- The civil judge in Senior Division draws salary of Rs. 21, 000/- per month
- District judge with Super Time Scale gets salary of Rs. 24, 000/- per month

As per the recommendation of the National Judicial Pay Commission the salary of the District Judge. Civil Judge is fixed and they will not get any grade pay.

The District Judge/Civil Judge gets a salary of Rs. 28, 000/- at entry level. The junior division district judge gets Rs. 12, 000/- per month, the senior division civil judge gets Rs. 21, 000/- per month and the Super Time Scale district judge gets salary of Rs. 24, 000/- per month.

Unlike high court judges and Supreme Court judges, the district judges get much lower allowances. Some of the regular allowances they get are:

Judge Pay Scale benefits under 7th Pay Commission
The salary of the judges, be it high court or Supreme Court, has increased only 4 times since 1950. So in 7th pay commission, the recommendation said, the pay scale of the judges should be increased along with the allowances. According to the recommendation, the allowances may be doubled for the Judges. For instance the electricity bills might be Rs. 20, 000/- when the usage is Rs. 10,000/-.

President approves the bill of salary hike to judges
During the winter session, the president Mr. Ram Nath Kovind has approved the proposed bill of salary hike to the judges as per the recommendation of the 7th pay commission.
- Now the judges of the nation able to receive more than double of the current payment, along with the changes in the house rental allowances and sumptuary allowances under the pay-hike.
- Now, with respect to the passed bill the salary for chief Justice would be 2.8L, supreme court and high court justice would be Rs. 2.5L respectively.

Absolutely wrong information.
The pay scale of Subordinate Judiciary has already been increased since the implementation of the Shetty Commission in 2006. A District Judge gets around 77 thousand basic pay (Super time scale) while a Entry Level District Judge gets around 50 thousand basic pay (basic pay doesn’t include dearness allowance and other allowances). This Blog that has been written in 2016 has not been written with proper research and is misleading people.
