Indian Institute of Management is the number one management institute in India. With 20 leading branches across the country, the institute started its journey since early 60s. IIM is better known for the post graduation courses on management. The institute since the early 60s are offering several post graduation, doctorate and other executive academic programs to millions of students from the different parts of the nation. Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jammu, Indore, Shillong, Raipur, Ranchi and such are the few prominent places where the IIM institution branch can be found.
The institute is being always particular about the students as well the staff they recruit every year or so. As the name becomes so huge, it is obvious that the authority takes extra care while recruiting teaching as well as non-teaching staffs. Here I have come up with the detail about the posts of teaching as well as non-teaching staffs and their monthly pay scale.
IIM Pay Scale, Salary
IIM is a governmental institute and the pay scale follows the regular pay bands declared by the government. The teaching staffs of the institute get the highest pay as they fell into pay band 3 and 4. The non-teaching staffs like administration and all receive much lower payment as they belong to pay band 1 and 2.
There is also academic grade pay that is given to every single employee that falls under any of the pay bands. The grade pay amount depends on the posts. The highest post i.e. Director of the institute does not get any grade pay. His / her salary/pay scale is fixed.
IIM Teaching Staff Pay Scale
In teaching staff category, IIM has Director or the dean of the institute, sr. professors, associate professors and assistant professors. Sr. professor and associate professors fall under pay band 4 while the assistant professors fall under pay band 3. The post-wise pay scale of the teaching staffs is as follows:

IIM Non Teaching Staff Pay Scale
Talking about the non-teaching staffs, there are some of the posts that I have mentioned below. The non-teaching staffs fall under the lower pay band like PB 1 and 2 and some fall under PB 3 as well. Officers like librarian, admin officers and such fall under pay band 3 with different grade pay according to the posts.
Lower grade officers like junior engineer, library assistant, sr. assistant and such fall under pay band 2 and rest staffs like drivers and peons belong to pay band 1. They draw the lowest monthly salary from the institute. The post-wise non-teaching staff pay scale is:

IIM Facility & Benefits under 7th Central Pay Commission
- Under 7th CPC the academic grade pay for the associate professors under any institute was said to be increased by 3 times as per the recommendation. The grade pay was recommended to increase up to Rs. 27000/- per month.
- As per the 7th Pay Commission report for the group ‘A’ faculties the benefit of training will be increased. 30% of the basic pay scale will be provided to the professors as training allowances.
